Does anyone know a 12 step Jewish online AA group? I am looking for one.

I went to a regular AA meeting tonight. I've been to them before and they do help to a point. But there is this gap. Does anyone else find that? Some of my issues I just can't bring up. And some of what gets said almost makes me think I don't have a drinking problem, but I do, in my own way.

And I'm wondering if some of what triggers me into wanting to drink, I might find a better way to deal with, such as when my husband is cruel or nasty or does things that make me feel almost unmarried whereas I am and that makes a difference.

I understand everything you are saying. Normal AA meetings did not work for me either. I also had an issue with the 12 steps becasue I thought some of them did not fit with my beliefs as a Jew. I dont know if there are any Online Jewish AA groups but I know there are some real ones. They are far and few between. I dont know where you live but if it is in a very Jewish area there may be one. I went to one once, it was better then the normal ones but still not great. I think part of that was becasue there were only about 6 people there. Even still I could tell that if I was able to find a larger one it could be very helpful. I know this is prob not what you wanted to hear but I hope it helps in some way.

Chel and chinajew,
Welcome to the Mishpacha.
This book might help making the bridge between the frum world and the 12 steps programs.

Thank you chinajew. I am in Australia, and not in a big city so it is sounds as if AA is where I'll have to go. I'll supplement it with Avraham Twerski's books and some others I have and am getting along with that Rabbi Twerski book you mentioned abaof4 - thanks for that.

I didn't drink last night so things are looking good. It was a wrench though, not depending on that nightcap to blot out the misery a bit. I don't drink lots, but I have been drinking every night for a while, again, and it doesn't suit me. Also it is a sign I need to find better ways to cope. Hopefully I've now turned a corner
