Hi,
My Wife has Bipolar and OCD, I'm to tired of writing the whole history here but if you have a minute to jump in to the bipolar section you can find more of my posts.

I'm posting here just to schmooz around on one issue, We have latly adjusted her meds due to being a little manic and that realy made her OCD go mad. Its really driving us crazy. I'm just wondering what meds any one takes just for OCD, Because a lot of this ocd she has can be side affects from the other meds.
I am aware of what meds can do and how hard it can be to adjust and find the right cocktail, I'd just like to hear how others live with it.
I think since shw has bipolar its hard to treat her with the CBT method, or maybe for who she is. Ever case is different. Her OCd is more Obsesive thinking than rituals,

Did your wife ever try cbt for ocd even though she has bipolar disorder. I do not see a contradiction.
Some med's for ocd are ssri's but they are dangerous if your wife sometimes gets manic, since they are antidepressants. Anafranil is also good.It is also an antidepressant so check with MD. It has dry mouth for a side effect, so be prepared for some discomfort for a little bit of time. I find biotene toothpaste and other biotene products helpful for dry mouth.

Thanks for asking,

As I did mention it is hard to treat her with CBT, we are not sure if its the BP or personality or both. no matter which way you look at it its tuff out there.

Why don't you ask your wife to ask dr. price, in ask the psychiatrist?
