Anyone have experience with an EMG? I'm looking for a center that would do it on a child preferably under sedation. If anyone has ever done this test, and would share their experience, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am an adult in good health but with wrist pain. I had 2 emg tests last year. The needles are painless but the shock tests are slightly scary but not really painful. I don't know if a neurologist can test if patient does not respond under sedation. The whole emg takes approx. 10-15 minutes. Why is the child being tested?

Wow, thanks Chaya for your response to this....I am looking at getting an EMG soon and am PETRIFIED....I don't know if you are still looking at this, but you definitely took the edge off the fear. Thanks.
