I'm a 17 year old frum girl. Last year I met an 19 year old guy. I had never really talked or hung out with boys before and it was 'fun' and 'exciting' so I gave him my number. We kept in touch and I went to visit him a couple months later. When I went to visit I got in his car and he drove to a deserted area and took advantage of me. I'm terrified to tell anyone because my parents would be horrified and I don't even know how to talk about it and I don't want them to want to press charges. But I feel like I need help because this is ruining me. I cry every single night and I've had many panic attacks. I feel so guilty like I brought this on myself because if I would have just been a good frum girl this would never have happened to me. I don't know what to do or how to get over this or if this has ever happened to anyone else. Should I tell my parents? Should I tell someone at school who can help me? Should I just try and let it go?

Hi, I don't think that Dr. Lynn checks frumsupport anymore so I'm going to try to respond.
I wish I knew the right thing to say or had the words to comfort you. All I can say is that you are not alone and there are a couple of resources in the frum community for help with dealing with this kind of thing. One is JCW ( http://www.jewishcommunitywatch.org) and another is Amudim ( 646-517- 0222). You are NOT the only one that this has happened to and it IS possible for you to get through this. You don't have to just "try and get over it" or carry the guilt for this horrible thing that happened to you. It was NOT your fault and there are many people who are willing and able to help you in this difficult time
