My spirituality and passion and "aliveness" is dependent on being in an episode (usually manic/hypomanic) where my feelings are very intense and my energy is boundless. I'm coming off a manic episode now and feeling discouraged that nothing inside of me is real. I wish someone could relate, especially to the religious aspects.

Hi, welcome!
I can relate to the feeling that "nothing inside of me is real."With me, it works the other way. I find myself really mad at people. And then I'm not sure if my feelings are real or caused by MI. I can't trust myself and that is frightening.

Thank you for responding. I was so inspired this year by the Yamim Norayim and thought it was finally FINALLY real. Turns out, nope, just manic. Terribly disappointing.

Hi and welcome!

I can relate to the religious aspects, having had similar experiences. I do believe it's real, especially at this time of year, which is very spiritually charged. The aliveness and 'charge' are very real, and during a manic phase our senses are heightened and we tune in to it a lot easier.
