Hi , this is my first post here. I'm wondering if anyone has good ideas on how to force yourself to get things fine ( cooking, cleaning etc..) when not feeling motivated?

Just reading this, and I was struggling with this today. I was pushing off finishing something I was nervous about, because I tend to think I'll do it all wrong. Maybe other reasons as well. Anyway I did push it off and waste time watching videos and reading the news. But then I did some of it.

This didn't used to help me, but with therapy I was able to benefit more from thinking about the benefits of what I'm doing.

Other ideas? Oh here's a good one for me. I start with things that aren't as overwhelming but have some benefit to them, even if they aren't the most pressing issue. LIke, instead of taking care of scheduling the dentist appointment (OUCH) I'll start by washing some dishes. Sometimes that helps me get some momentum and eventually get to the harder stuff. But even if I still am too scared to face the harder stuff, I'll still have gotten some things done, which is good for my self-esteem.

I'll admit I've had periods when my depression was too strong to be helped by any of these, so if they don't work for you, please feel free to say so and I'll not be offended (only one tiny little bit)
