When I mess up -like when I wake up late or waste time there is a part of me that wants to hurt myself I want to get beaten up.
I can picture my father's rage at me when I mess up. I internalized that rage and violence to the point that I rage at myself and want to hurt myself..

I end up hating myself and feeling that I am worthy of being beaten and slapped. Its hard to feel this

How should I deal with this?

Would it help to imagine looking at yourself from the outside? If you were the father of someone like you how would you respond to him? If your friend was just like you how would you respond to him?

What helps me is actually talking to myself and saying "you are not a bad person. You do not deserve to be hurt or put down. You dserve to be understood. You are great. " and really mean it. Easier said than done

I think you should see a therapist.
