Do you ever feel like a burden?
I am always a guest and lately I'm feeling like a huge burden.
I was always a huge burden to my mother. She never wanted to take care of me. I suspect that I project that onto my hosts.

Would it help of I got married? Would I feel like less of a burden?

I have been told that when I feel like a burden - that I have to work on that before I can get married,.... because I will try to pin it on my future mate

Yet by some self talk and the fact that you are recognizing the trend - you are on your way! "well begun is half done!"

Yes! And I absolutely hate feeling this way. I am super independent, to the point of overdoing it, because I'm terrified of being a burden. But when I don't feel good, and end up dysfunctional, I can't help it.

I feel for you! But it's temporary. Most of the time I don't feel like a burden. And I way overcompensate by getting a lot done.

You probably do project a lot, Momo. It could be that your hosts enjoy having you. I know that I enjoy having guests. When I feel good, that is.
