Kvetch fest is here....just so you know.

My arm is hurting again. I just had a procedure in Feb. to take away arm and neck pain and it's back along with headaches. It hit me at once today while waiting in a doctor's office. I'm so angry I'm back to square one again . I don't want to ruin my kids' summer beccause I'm in pain. Feeling like a failed parent again. Going to sleep now and praying it doesn't hurt so much in the morning. .

Kvetching is allowed here =D
How are you feeling this morning? Any better?
Something to think about: How does you being in pain against your will constitute you as a failed parent?

Sorry you're in so much pain, mouse. Kvetching is fine with me. You sound like the most amazing parent to me.

Hope you're feeling better, mouse.
About feeling guilty --I think we parents find s/thing to feel guilty about all the time, unless we work really hard on this issue.
You are a good parent most of the time. Now you are not feeling well. You'll feel better soon,iy"h, and be able to do more.
And it's o.k. for them to see real life.

Just wanted to say thank you Gad for your well wishes and the rest of you for the reality check. I will try to be a little more compassionate today with myself and remind myself I'm doing the best I can. Also, I'll try to remember that there is always something I can criticize myself for and to just cut it out. Maybe today will be easier. I hope so. Have a good shabbos everyone .

Hi Mouse!

Being a good parent does NOT depend on your physical health. You are a good parent because you generally respect your children's feelings, you care deeply about them, and you love them. That's what counts!

You can't control your physical health and God decided that the best thing for these children is to have Mouse as their mom - you with all your imperfections is just what your children need.

You worry too much!
How much fun you're children have during one summer won't make or break them. You have limitations and that's ok. Don't feel guilty.

Why don't you let them make their own fun by playing outside and getting together with friends or by working on a fun project they can do on their own etc etc
Very few parents ate capable of entertaining their children all the time and that's not even your job!

Refua Shlaima!! And please take care of your health we all need you and want you to feel better!!!

Yeah, kids are very resilient and can deal with a lot. Its also healthy for them to be morse self sufficient. Helecopter parents end up with messed up kids ( exibit A: me!!)
As long as they have accsess to their physical and emotional needs they will be ok. Not to mention get great middos...
