Does anybody else feel like this support environment could be more supportive? I feel that this forum is too anonymous, and perhaps, too detached. Are there others who desire a more social and open forum where one can give and receive more personal support. For those who are quick to ask the generics: Yes, I am seeing a therapist! Yes, I have a nice family, but I want to connect with others and give myself and others the opportunity to interact in a more personal and intimate way. How about a peer support group? Peer support activities? Anyone?

Feedback encouraged!

Good ideas. How would you work them out practically?

For starters….I was waiting for responses…you seem to be the only one….can you tell me a little about your life situation?

I would suggest creating a weekly phone forum.
There are several web sites that offer a free conference call service.
If you can organize something like that, I would be interested in joining,

Not to be the big downer here, but historically it seems to me that trying to get together a support group in person hasn't worked. Many of us do not live in NYC area. I'm not sure if a conference call idea has been tried. I don't think so. I cannot take part in the conference call idea though because I homeschool and ALWAYS have a little ear forcused on ME!!! It's worth it though. I love my child and know I'm doing what is best. She's become her old self again from kindergarten -- happy, carefree, and curious about the world.
