What is the job of a therapist in between sessions?
If things are difficult are you allowed to call/text/email her?
Is it her job to respond?
Am I bothering her by texting/emailing her?

In another thread I posted that when I reached out to therapist she told me to call 911 she since apologized. Now she's going on vacation and she asked me to text her how I'm doing so that we don't lose the connection. I'm so confused :-/

What do you guys think?

Every therapist is different. Some have stricter policies and don't allow any contact outside of sessions, while others encourage it. Maybe discuss with her or ask her directly. How long have you been seeing her? Are you comfortable with her?

That's interesting. I thought there would be like a rule that most therapists follow but I guess not.

We've been meeting for 10 months, currently I'm uncomfortable with her. That tends to happen with most therapists I meet...

I guess I should ask her directly I'll try that iyh.
thanks!
