Did anyone find this more helpful than individual therapy? Someone suggested it but I'm going to be so embarrassed! I'm anyways going to be the fattest one there...I'm really tense about it. Anyone?

I do group therapy and find it very helpful. You have to be prepared to make yourself very vulnerable, but it could be very helpful.... What kind of group are you looking into?

Sometimes you need to run away just to see who will follow you.

Sometimes when I say "I'm okay", I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight and say "I know you are not".

Just because I'm smiling doesn't mean I'm happy.

I really dunno my mother doesn't want me to go with non jews cuz she's scared but there arent rly any frum group therapies or centers whtvr here.(OOT). I just vomited some of my supper...I'm really not doing well. Ate too much today, too little yesterday but I still got really fat. I'm going to do some exercise...But back to group stuff-What kinds are there? And is it more or less helpful than individual? I'm the type to be quiet the whole time-very insecure.

I don't know if it's the same kind of experience but I'm in a DBT program and one of the main parts of it is group therapy...
I know what you mean about being embarrased. It took a loooooooooonnnnnnggggggg time as in months for me to start talking. And even though I'm definitely not the most vocal one there, I find I really am gettiing a lot out of it. It can be really helpful to see othere people's behaviours and recognize urself in it. I'ts also a good'laboratory' for trying out difficult interpersonal interactions, for experiencing difficult emotions and your impulses to them...
I definitely recommend group therapy if you are able to get into a group or program. probably nefesh or relief has information on groups in the Jewish community.
Good Luck!

If it isn't a jewish place, would it be okay? Or do you think its better if its jewish? Cuz where i live there aren't any jewish ones. I think i'd feel more comfortable w/ nonjewish cuz nobody knows me.

they should all have kosher meals, and if not you might get a heter from your rav if you explain the situation (it CAN be anonomously!)
-depends on the place and its style/"security"
