I am sorry I have not been reading frumsupport till now to answer you earlier. My husband has been diagnosed with type 1 diebetes, 4 months after my chasuna, and 4 months pregnant. b"h we are married almont 10 years now and 3 healthy children. I've read a lot about people livving with diebetes for over 50 years without it affecting any organs. Just pray to hashem, and he should try to control it the best he could. If you're worried about shidduchim, I would take my husband even if I would know he has diebetes. He's in my eyes, and in the eyes of my parents more quality than my friends and sisters husbands.
