I understand the possible appropriateness of placing a topic like ADHD under neurology, but recommend it be moved to Mental Health. This will provide a more seamless category...these category titles are not an exact taxonomy, but a rough approximation of where people will turn to look for their topic...

I agree totally with you. ADHD is a mental health condition which my daughter suffers from.
Right now she is an out of control teenager who refuses to see her MD or take any meds. because she does not want to be considered "crazy".
She is currently in a program in Israel and it is very hard for me to be on top of the situation from so far away.
I worry about her future re: getting married, holding a job, getting along with people, etc.
She has a normal IQ but this condition makes it very hard for her to learn much.

Any words of encouragement from anyone?

Im about to turn 24 and had ADHD as a child (I probably still have it to a small extent). I am about to finish my degree after taking a year out to work in R&D at GSK (A drug development company). If you ask me I think people with ADHD certainly have difficulty learning but in my experiance have a better chance of getting a good job than the average person (basted on people I have known with ADHD) as long as it is controlled. I am sure she will be fine in all respects. I have a huge number of friends as did everyone I know with ADHD (probably as they stood out from the crowd) and in fact many people I knew who had it are already happily married. A good way to help controll it is for the person to do lots of excersise. This calms them down and helps with studying too.

All the best

Thank you for the suggestion. The ADHD section was moved to the MH Category.
