Hi,
My daughter, who is 6 weeks old, has hip dysplasia and we are anticipating that the orthopedist will have her put in a brace for at least six weeks (possibly more). We had the hip ultrasound today and are seeing a specialist in a week. In the meantime, we are double-diapering her, but I'm guessing that probably won't change anything.

I am a little nervous and don't know what to expect -- will the brace make her miserable? Do babies usually tolerate them well? Does it cause any developmental delays? If anyone has been through this with their own child and is willing to provide some information or experience, I would very greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Danielle

i do know of someone who had to do that to their child. I think the child adapts much easier than the parents. remember, she's only 6 weeks old, so she doesn't have much experience. For her, this is normal. It will be a bit challenging for the stroller and the car seat, but in the long run, it will be fine. The girl I know is 5 or 6 now, I believe, and she's totally fine.
