I'm a mother of a son who had Hodgkins disease 6yrs ago as a teen. He's now perfectly fine, fertility intact & no side effects. Sounds good, right?
Well, it is except that we've hit shidduchim & cancer any cancer is bad news. People run very far away at the very mention of the word, they can't even say it!
We asked a Rov when we started when the information should be revealed and were told "after 2 dates", the problem is we can't get to date stage. Everyone finds out at enquiry stage. The last rejection took less than 10 minutes. I had the shadchan ask if they heard about the cancer & it was confirmed.
We've been looking for 11months & he hasn't met anyone!
I contacted SOS Tasis 10 mths ago & again 2 mths ago & they haven't got anyone shayich.
I'm beyond frustrated, I don't know what to do or whom to turn to.
Does anyone have any suggestions how we should go about it? Should we include the doctors letter with his shidduch profile? Be upfront with all shadchanim (we found they don't bother with us when we are)?
