My 22 month old was born with out a thyroid. They bH caught it at birth through the newborn screening program (we were in Israel at the time). I am now using a pediatric endocrinologist at CHOP, and am happy with her care, but there seems to be very little information about these kids and their needs. Do you have any resources? I find myself worrying about things that seem odd, but neither the pediatrician or the specialist will definitively attribute them to her thyroid issue. Example: this winter if it was particularly cold outside I would find that when I went to get her out the crib from a nap her lips would be blue! She has had a very hard time fighting infection this winter. Her TSH levels and T4 levels have been ok, we have adjusted her synthroid every two months. I find that the endocrinologist is very busy telling me how normal she is and how wonderfully she is doing, but it seems like this is not as clear cut as that. Any resources for information would be appreciated.
