I don't know what to do. My life is a wreck. I am trying to work out therapy from child s*x abuse. I feel a bit hopeless. I went through so many therapists. Nothing seems to be working. It is hard to talk. I write very expressively though. Any thoughts?

Writing is a GREAT way to express your feelings. Maybe you can show or email it to your therapist so she knows how your feeling but you don't need to discuss it.

-------------------------
Sometimes you need to run away just to see who will follow you.

Sometimes when I say "I'm okay", I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight and say "I know you are not".

Just because I'm smiling doesn't mean I'm happy.

Have any of the therapists you have seen utilized EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)? I have seen people have excellent success when the conditions are good. If you have never heard of it, you can goto the website: EMDR.com. You can ask any questions here or pm me.

I meant you don't have to discuss it right away but at least your therapist knows how you feel.

I am mortified to have my therapist read what I wrote. It is so hard to let go of the mound of garbage that I let sit on my heard.
Dr. Lynn. I did try EMDR but it really did not blow over well. It was really odd. The woman told me I was healed after like 4 sessions. I did not have to speak about anything and nothing came to my mind except a picture of one abuser. Is that how it is meant to work??

It is meant to help a person become desensitized to the traumatic memory so that the images are no longer disturbing to think about. In some cases, I have seen EMDR actually erase the images completely. It might be something worth considering if your images are clear and disturbing- that is the general criteria I use to determine if the technique is appropriate.
