i had surgery a month ago to remove a cyst on my hand. it was done under local anesthesia by a plastic surgion.

i'm just wondering...4 weeks already passed and i still haven't regained sensation in the area above the incision. y'know the feeling in your mouth and lips when u get a shot of novacane for a filling - well that's what the finger feels like...except that it's not going away! all the stitches are already out (the wound is healing horribly. i've gota huge 'hole' and the surgeon said it's healing from inside out - don't know why it didn't heal normally) and when i asked the doc why i still can't feel in that finger, he said that it's bruised and to give it time.

the surgery was done on my thumb so i havn't had a pincer grasp for a month already and it's gettin kinda hard to function. i know it could be worse, but it's hard not to have a thumb for this long

the surgeon said i don't have to see him again and that it'll finish healing and sensation will eventually come back on it's own. this was supposed to be very minor surgery and i was supposed to be funcioning normally within a week. i know the doc said not to worry...but i'm just wondering if this seems normal to anyone else.
