I have a pulse-like feeling under my breast bone. THis has gone on for a wk. Tonite I almost fainted. Is this anxiety??? The only reason I ddid't faint was that I got on the floor on time and put my head down.

If not anxiety, then check with your doctor regarding your heart/lungs. Let me know how you make out.

If anti-anxiety treatments such as benzodiazepenes (Ativan, Klonopin, Valium) do not work and tests of heart and lung function are abnormal, it is not likely to be just anxiety causing these symptoms.

Or if you're not in mood of a late night ER visit... and this has gone on for a week... you can try your PCP.

Ok, so I went to the ER and was told they couldn't find any probs. That's good except my heart is still racing and I have a weird feeling of about to faint. I tried to call my psychiatrist but he's on vacation till Monday and I know the covering doc will likely not give me anything for anxiety...providing that's what it is. (I don't feel anxious really over anything.). What are my options? I already take klonopin and I reduced caffeine and adderall Xr. Any ideas to tide me over until Monday??? I also take trazadone, rozerem, and abilify. I just want the feeling to stop.

Klonopin is your on the spot anti-panic/ anti-anxiety medication. Klonopin lasts about 5-6 hours so it can be used 3 to 4 times a day. Usual dose is 0.5mg to 2mg at one time. If too strong, it will be sedating so use less at one time.

Ok, so I just tried klonopin for that really awful feeling. It doesn't seem to be helping. How long should I give it before it starts to work? If this doesn't work, what do??? More than one will knock me out.

Ok, it didn't work within an hour. I had taken 1 mg. I just took a second 1mg (after an hour had passed unsuccessfully.) Is there anything else??? Seriously, this is making me drowsy and not really working. Getting frustrated. I called my primary care physician and she's on vacation, along with psychiatrist, and therapist (as if that would help much.) Any other ideas???

I cannot prescribe for you online. Perhaps you should see someone else in the interim for an emergency appointment until your doctor returns? Xanax XR may be a more effective alternative to Klonopin for panic attacks for you. Let me know how you make out.

No luck with urgent care center. They don't think it's anxiety. Doing further tests not done at ER.

I've been having severe chest pain on and off for a few weeks. I thought it was anxiety, but I just realized maybe it's a stomach problem. I'm gonna go check it out. Thanks, Munkster!
