I was at the IOCDF convention and during one of the forums
a psychiatrist talked about glutamate and OCD. He said that there is
a 'natural' supplement available called NAC. I see this is sold in health stores.
There are also prescription meds.

Do you think NAC can help with OCD ? Should I pursue the OTC
kind or prescription pills ?

Thanks

Either one has the NAC which can be helpful. Either more helpful than NAC is Inositol 9 grams twice a day which is literally flying off the shelves in Monsey. Inositol works even better when used alone rather than in combination with medication. Let me know how you make out.

I am taking 60mg of Paxil every day. Does Inositol interact with Paxil ?
I don't want to stop the Paxil at this point.
I have been feeling great for at least four months now since starting
on the higher dose of Paxil. The last two days I started slipping.

This may be a good time to talk about diet having seen you mention inositol (which I am giving another to) and blood tests (which I had some)
I have read a lot about the best diets for ocd and depression.
Would you recommend a special kind of diet ie low fat and low G.L are the two I have seen recommended for ocd

Finally dr penzel another advocate of inositol recommends a gradual increase up to 9mg twice a day. I presume as I have had no side effects on 4g a day it's worth moving straight to 9mg morning and night as u suggest
Thanks as ever

No problem taking Inositol with SSRI's or with gradual versus full dosing. Certain people are more sensitive to diet such artificial colors, sugars, gluten.
