Yesterday I had a disturbing reoccurance of manic symptoms. These were much more severe than last time more psychotic-like. I don't even remember part of the day (which could be attributed to a dissociative disorder) but it was weird. I didn't sleep at all the night before and my mind was racing to nowhere on nothing in particular. I was obviously out of sorts since it was obvious something was wrong to a therapist for my daughter. I just said I hadn't slept and explained it away out of embarassment. But still, I'm wondering if it is possible to have manic or psychotic symptoms for one day and then go back to normal??? This is the second time now it has happened and I'm worried it will get worse. At the same time, I am scared to say anything because I don't want to be hospitalized during the holidays (especially since we are having company.) Basically, I want help but not THAT kind of help. Any advice???

Yes. Can happen. Take care of it immediately so that it does not progress into a hospitalization. Let me know how you make out.
