I was wondering how I know when I don't need therapy or medication anymore. In February I was attacked and after that I started having panic attacks and was becoming depressed. In June I started therapy and then by the suggestion of the therapist went to a psychiatrist and started lexapro two weeks ago(as per my earlier post). Yesterday for the first time since February I was able to relax, and last night I finally slept well. I still had an anxiaty attack at work today although it was small. I know it is too early on for the meds to have kicked in so I am wondering is it possible i am better regardless of the meds. And if not how does one know when they are ready to stop meds and therapy, and live a normal life.

Lexapro can start to work within 2 weeks. Best to continue at least 6 months from the time you feel back to normal and then slowly taper thereafter. Let me know how you make out.
