Very exciting technology. Unfortunately, at this stage of development, the SPECT is not superior to a human is diagnosing mental conditions. Also it is pretty expensive and not covered by insurance. Let me know how you make out.

why is it not superior to a human diagnosing? At least it can show the region of the brain not working properly. Can't that help somehow? Yes, it is very expensive. The cost is $3500 for two scans and two meetings with their psychiatrist. But that's how much I spent on TMS, and it didn't even help! I wonder if this would be worth coming in to the U.S. for, but my doctor also had the same response as you. Oh well..

SPECT is currently not specific enough to discern distinctions between diagnoses yet. I am hopeful that as our neuroimaging technology improves, we will be incorporating it more into our clinical work as we do in other areas of Medicine.
