My brother and I are in our mid-20's. We had a disagreement where one (ok, me) called the other some not nice words/ insults.

If this occurs infrequently is it normal?

Sounds like two members in my family who are sibs......Dunno if it's normal but sure is annoying and grates on my nerves . If it helps any, it dies down quite a bit once the parents are gone....doesn't help me, because in some ways it's more difficult, but usually the sibs realize all they have then is each other and they find a way to coexist or even LOVE one another. Speaking from my experience...not from professional knowledge....Perhaps Dr. Pricec will talk .

Sibling conflict to some extent is "normal" as is conflict in many close relationships. Most important though is the ability to self reflect, apologize and accept an apology so that we may all grow and become better people.

Good Shabbos,
