Hi Dr price, I wanted to ask you a question about ECT shock therapy.ive
been taking numerous medications for the past 5 years and still
get severely depressed and suicidal. My therapist mentioned that I should
try shock therapy. Do u know if its safe and effective? Would you suggest it?
does insurance cover it? Im desperate to get better! Therapy isn't either working
so much anymore. My therapist suggested that I see someone more firm as
she's really sweet and gentle. whats your opinion on all of this?

Thanks!

ECT can help many of those who are not responding to other treatments. Insurance is more likely to cover it if done inpatient but it can also be covered outpatient where you come in Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Can take 1 to 4 weeks to work. Let me know how you make out.

If therapist thinks it is a good idea to switch.
