Hi Dr Price,

Hope you're having a good evening.

I wanted to ask on this forum; how can I be more accepting of my family?

Thanks so much.

Look at them as people, regular people who have both positive and negative qualities.

Hey Dr. Price,

Good morning and thanks so much for your reply! I think because I love my family, in all honesty it's hard to look at them very objectively as I would a stranger or a colleague. Any thoughts?

I understand. Although they are our family, we cannot forget that they are still people. We have certain expectations of them in their respective roles as parents and siblings but nevertheless they are still people with their own needs, pasts, issues so we have to take that love and turn it into compassion sometimes for them when they do not always live up to our expectations.

I hope this has been a little helpful.
