Is it normal to be really needy when starting with a new therapist??? I waited about six months before finding another therapist. Now I'm forever thinking of killing myself, have a hard time sleeping, and in general feel lonely even though I have friends. Is that normal??? I'm getting very frustrated very quickly and wondering whether I need to see her more than once a week or slow the pace in therapy a bit. My diagnosis is DID, depression, PTSD and stuff like that. Any input would be welcome. It's the first time in about 15 yrs that I have switched therapists. Last therapist and I got along quite well. I like the new one too, but having a really hard time.

Twice a week to start may help solidify the therapeutic bond more readily.
