Dear Dr. Price:

It is now a pleasure for me to know that you are the psychiatrist who reads the e-mails from Frumsupport.com.

I would like to know what kind of diagnosis you would give to woman who over-focuses on the negative. I am talking about a woman who would become mad at someone for some reason and would sort of forget or disregard a great many good things the other person had once done to her. Her madness is usually irreversible. To make matters worse, that woman finds very hard to admit that she is wrong, consequently blocking all possibilities for a psychologist to do anything about her problems. She would feel utterly insulted if she were told about personality disorders, e.g. depression, anxiety, mood swings, etc. For what I know, that woman is an inevitable candidate to some incurable diseases, like high blood pressure, diabetes, cancerous ulcers, etc. Taking into consideration what I have just stated and what I have concluded, do you think my perspectives are accurate?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

This individual would need a face to face evaluation to come to a diagnosis. For resistant clients, I find it helpful to invite them in as "collaterals" for the identified patient who is the willing and more insightful partner.
