Has anyone had any experience with EMDR? I am looking into it as a possible treatment option.

i've had some bad experience with it. i'd advise you to look into the therapist very well, because not all of them are good, and a bad EMDR therapist can destroy you

I have a fair amount of experience with EMDR, and have found it to be a very powerful and effective treatment for some people. It is an image-based therapy that is meant to desensitize the person to traumatic meories/images. I have also found it to have wider applications than just trauma. Feel free to ask more questions in this thread or privately.

Dr. Lynn, thank you for responding. I do have a question. Could EMDR be useful for things that happened when someone was an infant or a toddler? When I say 'things' I don't mean any specific trauma. Rather, I'm talking about a more general poor attachment between mother and child.

I personally have not used it for vague memories/feelings from such a young age. You can look on the website: emdr.com
