Until today I hadn't cut for 6 1/2 weeks. Every day has been a struggle and today I just gave up. Quitting just seems too hard.
I'm in so much pain and I don't know why. I can't validate it for myself so I need to feel physical pain too validate the emotional
pain I'm feeling and allow it to be REAL.
I'm tired of cleaning up the blood, looking at the scars, and self-loathing.
Why can't I just get to know myself and like being me?

Hi there!

You describe what I am experiencing all too well. I know the feeling as I myself am struggling with giving up cutting. Today is exactly 2 1/2 months of being 'cut-free' - a record for me!

they ice thing really only would work if it's the pain that the person is craving. But i don't know about you guys, but personaly it isn't just the pain that i cut for. I cut to see the blood, to see the damage i do to myself. it's almost as if i feel like i deserve to get scarred. that's why the ice wouldn't work for me.

try snapping a rubberband against ur arm - it hurts, leaves red marks, but a lot less permanent damage than cutting

yeah all your ideas about ice and rubber bands only somebody who is not in pain can give such brainy ideas I don't know about you but I have OCD and Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorder so when I feel I need to cut nothing will distract me not gym not walking or running reading I'm concetrated on feeling the pain of the moment and I can't get past to the next moment right now I'm living minute by minute I'm going crazy from pain but I have been cut free for 2 weeks now

Two weeks is a big achievement.

I hope you are able to keep it up in a happy way, and that you are able to post good news.

Go you! I also felt like nothing else could take its place (though i dont have OCD and stuff). It's been a couple of months for me now (I havent been counting since I didnt try to make a concious effort to completely stop it just kind of happened). Keep up the good work!!!!! And don't hate yourself if you slip up once in a while I'm sure it happens to alot of pple (happens to me). So proud of you! I know how hard it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Killed... how long is it going to take for you to get back on track again? I bet not as long as last time.

Good luck. You know we're rooting for you here!!

i never really stopped on purpose, i just kinda did so it wasn't a stuggle for me.
i dont really care that i started so much again either.
i'm kinda appethetic about it right now.
it makes me feel better and doesnt do damage to my body that actualy effects anything.
