have any of you ever donated blood to the red cross before?
they're having a blood drive and i was considering it. but i've never done it before because i was too worried about how they'd react when i pulled up my sleeve (I haven't been to a doctor or anything since I started cutting). Have any of you ever done it? Was there any reaction from the person taking the blood? They keep calling and saying how they need blood so bad I feel selfish not giving some.

If you have extra money, you can give charity.
If you have barely enough to survive, then someone else (who has more) can give the charity.

If you are worried about what may happen, then by not giving blood you are being prudent and responsible in protecting yourself.

i personally haven't gotten any comments, but then, I dont think i had open cuts at that time. i think it really depends on the person you get. as in life, some ppl will pretend not to notice, some will give you a piece of their mind, and others (rarely, unfortunately) will ask and really care.
if you're not up to hearing stupid comments, or if they will upset you and make you want to do it more, than you do come first and they will have to get their blood from someone else.
just my thoughts
