I know I'm not married yet and don't know if I'll ever be but I worry in advance. Tonight I went with my mom cuz she's the mikva lady but I'm in a closed room. I'm looking at the bedika charts and thinking I can never ever do this. Then I hear her yelling kosher as the women comes up or wtvr and I want to throw up! This is unfair to be so humiliated! And the stupid checking is gonna drive me nuts. Am I allowed to write this here? Who cares. I will never do this. I am so disgusted by the whole mikvah emotionally. Why would gd make such a shameful ocd mitzva? Even with heterim it's crazy! I am dreading this. Maybe I shouldn't be dating if I'm not able to put up with this.this is crazy and yes I feel everything so intensely. So why would gd punish me with even more shame and tricky halachos? Does this make anyone else nervous?

Ya know, I hate going to the mikvah for a multitude of reasons. But, in the end, you find a mikvah you are comfortable with where they DON"T peak and there are NO bugs (a biggie for me) and it isn't as bad. You reward yourself for going with a small something and it makes it sting a bit less. That's my exxperience.

I just saw an interesting video about mikvah that I think is worthwhile seeing.
If I would be able to find a mikvah so beautiful and with such a discreet and relaxed attendant, I think the mitzvah could almost be positive experience (assuming I get married...) I don't know if I can post the link but I'll try.
