Not sure what to do. It's erev shabbos and I feel horrible. I'm teary and just "off." I don't want a suicidal shabbos. Really, I don't. Don't know where to turn or even why I feel this bad .

What can you do to calm yourself, Munkster?
Deep breathing, music, walk......
We're with you. May we all have a peaceful shabbos!!!

Thanks for the support. I slept through Shabbos with the exception of the daytime meal. I couldn't deal with the vague, horrible feeling that something terrible is going to happen. I think it's related to a birthday party I planned for my kids. I have this sense of doom coming at me.

Is this anxiety? Is there any rational reason for you to dread the birthday party?

Munkster - I have problems like that when it is a trigger of some past event that I have yet to resolve......

The emotional flashback comes without any reference, perhaps if you can step back from it and try to identify where the awful feeling is coming from- it can give a little relief and allow you to get past it.... Anyway that is what came to mind - take care of yourself, try to reassure yourself....

Don't know how many times I have "slept through" a Shabbos - Oy Veh!

Hope you are feeling better

((hug))

Just finished the birthday party. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired and drained. It went well though and many parents enjoyed the party too as I had healhy snacks for the kids (other than the cake.) I'm just really tired now. I feel like I have be such a perfectionist in everything. I wish I wasn't that way but with parties I feel the need to impress.

Tons of leftovers since I overprepared, but at least no hungry monsters around at party. All the kids liked the healthy stuff as much as the cake (and the cake was gooooooooood.) I slept so well last night (as did my kids.) Star, for some reason I feel like not throwing a party isn't an option. I took the cheap and easy way out though. .

Congrats on taking the cheep and easy way out!!1 That is less "perfectionist" and most of the time an even better party for the kids....
