Mrs. Weiss has a wonderful diet for IBD patients. She is extremely caring and helpful.
But please be aware that with a serious case of Crohn's you should really go this over with your GI doctor first.
I'm 18 with Crohn's and I decided to try avoiding surgery by trying this diet. I started when I was too sick to eat anything.
The SCD eliminated any calories I might have gotten in and my NG tube feedings which I needed.
I ended up fainting from weakness and admitted to the hospital for lack on nutrition.
I'm planning to try the diet again when I'm up to eating what's on it. It's definately proven to help, so good luck!

I am just wondering if anyone knows of anyone who went on this diet as a PREVENTION rather than as a cure.
I have had surgery and feeling thank G-d excellent. I don't suffer from any symptoms, but I have been thinking about this diet!
Here are my feeling: The diet is a very drastic step - meaning I would have to cut out a lot of foods that I normally eat. Is it necessary to go on it if one is fine and just scared of a recurrence.
Also I understand that you could be weaned off it after a year or two. What is achieved by it if to begin with you are ok?

If someone can perhaps recomend someone who I can speak to who is in the same situation as me!!!

Thanks
