Before you consider those horrible medications. Please consider taking your child to a naturepath. Please cut the sugars and artificial sugars out of his diet and make sure he takes fish oil and eats vegtables. Just those few things may curre your child and please report back to me.

I have had a problem with "needing" sweets for 30 yrs- well before I was diagnosed with ADHD.

After seeing countless Doctors, i went to an Endocrinologist who actually listened to me & ordered a whole string of tests.

It turns out that my pituitary gland doesn't produce enough growth stimulating hormone - and some of the symptoms of that can mirror those of ADD/ADHD.

I don't know what your childs problem is, but its worth checking out.

As to homeopathic remidies- I have nothing against them, but the question is- will they help?

In a small minority of people they do, because the child or adult's body is sensitive enough to nutritional changes that they feel some relief.

For most people, it doesn't do anything.

However, it should also be noted that a proper, balanced diet will usually help the person loose some weight

In my case- and in the case of someone who's thyroid & pituitary aren't producing the proper levels of hormones, dietary changes alone won't work, because the cravings one has (which is the body's way of asking for nutrients to make up for the imbalance) overcome their "self discipline".

Best approach... see a good doctor who can get to the heart of the problem.
