Hi, I have been suffering from tmj for the last 19 months, starting from 3 months after my son was born. I was dizzy, and got explosive headaches when I wore lenses, and started getting pain by my ears.

I ran to all these specialists. No one was able to diagnose me. Finally, an ENT told me I might have tmj, a jaw disorder.

I went to a dental practice that specializes in facial pain, including tmj. I've been wearing a mouth splint for a month now, all day and night except when I eat. They said I will need to wear it for 6 to 8 months, and permanently wear one at night after that.

There were a few better days, but overall, I'm in pain literally all the time.

Online, I don't see much hope regarding tmj. It seems to be a very complicated disorder to cure. Many people are never cured.

It's so hard to function.

I have visual disturbances and floaters too.

I wish my life would be the way it was before.

Can anyone offer me any hope or positive tmj stories? Any treatments that actually worked?

Thanks so much!

I'm really suffering . . .
