Dear Group,

I am Boruch Hashem recovering from Emergency Open Heart Surgery which took place Shemini Atzeres. I had a left-atrial myxoma (tumour - 4" X 4" that attached itself to my heart and had been growing for many years. The upper left valve was leaking and as soon as the myxoma was removed the valve stopped leaking. The myxoma was found finally when I found a cardiologist who asked for an emergency echo-cardiogram. Once the cardiogram was done, the Dr. informed me that I had to undergo emergency surgery.

So now I am B"H on the recovery end of open heart surgery after being anemic for 8 months and not knowing what was wrong with me. The chief Hematologist believed the anemia was due to my inactive ulcerative colitis. My GP thought it was due to anxiety. It is only the Ribbono Shel Olam who can send you the answers. One must ask His help.

Left-atrial myxoma is an uncommon condition and has a 98% operative success rate. It is usually found post-mortem.

I am so lucky to be alive and post-op.
