I had a healthy baby boy 11 days ago. While he was in the nursery, the doctor detected a small heart murmur and sent for an echo. The cardiologist who did the echo said he has a PFO and VSD which would both resolve themselves by age 1. I asked for an explanation of what these terms mean and all he said is that he has a small hole in his heart which will close up by itself and I have nothing to worry about. He scheduled an appointment for 2 months from now. Anybody have any experience with this? I'm looking for more info about these conditions.
