I am planning Aliya with my three sons this September and have found Kibutzim will not take single moms and then today I just was told the Moshav I had applied too will not either take "unmarried persons".
I cannot help remembering my divorced friend telling me some school in Monsey told her, "We do not take children from broken homes."
I had one rebbe tell me "Well your son is from a broken home." I asked him about the fact that my father passed away when my youngest sister was 9 months old made our home a broken home too. He said, "Yes." I countered, "Whatever G-d does is whole and complete - "Ain avel", so how can you say what G-d intended to be is BROKEN?"

Hello Mom3sons!

I am sorry to hear about your difficulties. It is hard enough for you without people discriminating against you because of the situation you are in. I think it is wonderful
that you are planning Aliyah. I have so much family in Israel. One of my brothers is a Rav
in Yerushalayim and knows alot of people and is well connected.
Would you like me to ask him to inquire for you about a moshav that would be a good fit for
you? I would consider it a mitzvah to help you.

Whatever you decide, I wish you much hatzlacha!

Ernie

G-d bless you both. I hope at this point things have taken a good turn!
