Dear Dr. Price,
I was supplementing with niacin for short period of time with extra doze between 12 and 14 grams combination of niacin and inositol (inositol hexanicotinate) after which one of my liver enzymes went up but then it decreased
Normally the kind of niacin that I was taking does not cause an elevated liver enzyme but I guess with the big doze it did
After stopping the niacin the enzyme level went down but it still slightly above normal and it keeps decreasing
My physician told me that he thinks that my liver is fine and it is just the enzyme that got elevated
I have since then restarted taking the niacin in a regular doze but worried perhaps should have waited till the enzyme goes down completely
Currently I am taking 4000-4500 daily and will try to take another test soon
Originally the enzyme tested 288 then 152 and then 150

Please let me know what you think
Sincerely,
L.S

Best not to exceed a dosage that raises liver enzymes.
