I'm starting to have urges again, and I don't know what to do.... I don't want to give in, but it's so overpowering. What do you guys do when you have urges to od or to cut. My urges are more to cut but sometimes it is to od. Today I'm feeling pretty okay but still have urges... What should I do?

Sometimes you need to run away just to see who will follow you.

Sometimes when I say "I'm okay", I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight and say "I know you are not".

Just because I'm smiling doesn't mean I'm happy.

talk to someone who cares and understands what it feels like, either a therapist or a friend, or have a good cry. writing down your feelings also helps for certain people.

(((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))) and try not to give in.

Some people find it helpfull to put on a rubber band like a bracelet, and then pulling it and letting go. It hurts a whole lot, but it doesnt do any lasting damage, so its better to do that then cuting or doing other typs of self harm.

Of course proffesstional help its best, but the above can be a good to use till that help helps a person overcome those urges, or when a person have a set back.

Thank you Chanafofanna and messed up I know of those ideas I've tried them by me it's not really the pain I wanna feel it's seeing the blood and having the scars. Of course feeling the pain is also part of it, it reminds me that I still have feelings and it makes me feel pain and I like it because I deserve the pain....

Oh forgot to say that the red marker is a great idea because then I get to scrub it off and that can hurt which is good
