I was wondering if anyone who had lyme disease can let me know how they found out that they had it, how they treated it, what the symptoms were, etc etc etc.

Here's why I'm asking: I was diagnosed 3 years ago with lyme erlichiosis and babesiosis, almost died (not literally - I just felt absolutely YUCKY on it) on those zillions of anti-biotics and eventually stopped taking them. I felt the same symptoms before and after the anti-biotic regimens and I've learned to live with them. No, it's not easy and it does compromise my life. But, hey, anything's better than the way those anti-biotics killed me.
I didn't want to know if it's dangerous to live with lyme so I never asked and just stopped seeing the doc.
YES, I know that was very irresponsible and dumb and and and................of me but I was a teenager then and I didn't make responsible decisions and I just wanted to be normal and had enough of being sick, to put it simply.

Recently, I had some blood work and I came back with very high lyme disease anti-bodies. I'm not sure what I want to do about it. I'm not sure if I even believe in the whole lyme disease thing in the first place. So I want to know from anyone out there who has any experience with it what your view on the matter is.

Thanks.

i don't know if you took care of the lyme antibodies by now, since it's been a year. but i just wanted to add my two cents. i had a blood test that showed lyme antibodies, but didn't have prior symptoms of lyme, it was a fluke finding, and they put me on a couple of antibiotics for a few months and that was it. (i happened to already be on one of them because i was treating my acne with the same medication). nothing more. seemed easy. i'm just always wondering about the long run. did the possible lyme discease create future problems?
let me know how it all turned out.
